Biographical Introduction

Demetra Gabriel has been in the travel industry since 1985, when she started working for Groutas Travel Agency in the Outgoing and Incoming Department.

After several years was employed  by Amathus Holidays and later by Louis Tourist Agency as a Hotel Representative dealing with the British, French and  the German Market.

 Again, after several years she continued working with the British Market for Tour Operators Aspro Holidays and Cypriana Holidays as a Hotel Representative and Quality Controller.

From 1994 - 1999 Mrs Demetra Gabriel was employed by Creative Travel to deal with the French Market, was promoted to Head Hotel Representative and honored for her Sales Skills.

Her experience continued the following year with Travelwise (c/o Louis Tourist Agency) representing a Swiss Tour Operator.

After working in the tourism industry for thirteen years Mrs Demetra attended the course of the Cyprus School of Guides. She successfully graduated in 2001, obtaining a national license for guiding in Greek, English and French.

Since then she has been a freelance guide and has worked for many travel agencies, hotels, off shore companies, associations, universities, schools and for various departments within the government.

She has experience in preparing a program, planning the itinerary, timing and choosing the right place for the right people. She has worked with politicians, individuals, incentive groups, round trips and groups with special needs and interests (i.e. cooking, walking, geology, vegetation on educational basis etc), safari trips and has combined driving with guiding. Mrs Demetra loves walking using nature trails and studying the flora, fauna and the geology of Cyprus.

Born in Limassol, a hard working person, graduated from High School with A+. She was also awarded by the Cyprus School of Guides in 2001 for her guiding excellence.

Attended an additional Seminar for the Flora and Fauna of the island, organized by the Cyprus Tourism Organisation. Being a Trainer of the World Federation of Tourist Guides since 2007, she attended the Cruise Guide Training Course in 2008 as an administrator.

In June 2009 Mrs Demetra was an administrator and trainer during the Training Course of the World Federation of Tourist Guides Association organized in Cyprus.
